A resume checker scores a CV against a keyword list and a set of formatting rules, and tells you which words are missing. Risenoow reads your CV against the actual job description, names the requirement it does not evidence, gives you a fix you can make today, and then hands the employer the same kind of evidence when you apply.
This page describes the category, never a named product. Everything in the Risenoow column is free on this site unless the row says otherwise.

CV score for Senior Backend Engineer72 / 100
Where 72 sits
0Lowest scored for this kind of roleMedian100
Shown against every CV assessed for this kind of role, with the sample size stated. Under thirty comparable scores, a plain guide replaces the number.
1The role asks for ownership of a service in production; your CV shows the work but never the outcome. Fix today: add the uptime, the latency or the cost figure you actually moved.
2Nothing on the CV names the database the advert lists three times. Fix today: name it where you used it, even in a side project.
Not a list of missing keywords. A requirement, and the change that closes it.
Side by side
Keyword scoring, or a reading against the job you are actually applying to.
The left column describes what resume checkers do as a category. We do not name products and we claim nothing about any one of them beyond the shape they share.

Why it matters
What you are scored against
A keyword list and a set of formatting rules a machine reads.
The job description itself. Paste the advert, give the link, or just name the role.
A CV can pass every keyword test and still say nothing the role actually asks for.
What a low score tells you
Which words are missing and where the layout breaks a parser.
Which requirement your CV does not evidence, written in the language of the advert.
Missing words are a symptom. A missing requirement is the thing that loses you the interview.
The advice
Add these terms, use this verb, shorten this line.
A fix you can make today, ordered by importance. The advice can never tell you to acquire citizenship, to relocate, or to go back and get more years.
Advice about a thing you cannot change this week is not advice, it is a verdict.
What your CV already proves
Usually nothing. The output is a list of shortcomings.
Alongside the gaps, the review lists the requirements your CV already evidences.
A reading that only names faults teaches you to distrust the reading.
The rewrite
Generated wording, sometimes carrying achievements you never had.
Built only from what you told us. No achievement, metric, tool or date you did not say.
An invented line is the one an interviewer asks about, and you will have nothing to say.
Whether the rewrite worked
Unmeasured. You are asked to trust that it reads better.
The rewrite is scored against the same job again. Before and after side by side, with every changed line explained.
A second number on the same job is the only honest way to know a change helped.
Where the answers go
Nowhere. Every check starts from the same blank page.
A short set of questions closes the named gaps in your own words, and the answers fold into your career profile.
The next job you check starts from a fuller picture rather than from the same CV.
Who sees the score
You, and sometimes the site that is also selling to employers.
Only you. It is always labelled a CV score so it is never confused with what an employer reads.
A diagnostic you are afraid of is a diagnostic you will not run.
What the employer reads
Nothing. The checker and the employer never meet.
When you apply, the employer reads a report on the interview with your own quoted words under every score, and each claim marked supported, unclear or contradicted against your CV.
The same evidence, read by both sides, is what stops a decision being made about words you never wrote.
Templates
Usually behind a subscription, sometimes behind a trial that bills.
Any CV goes into a designed template the moment it is uploaded, before any score. Two are free forever, exported as PDF, Word and plain text; the rest are previewed with your real content and watermarked. Every card states its layout and how well parsers read it.
You should be able to leave with a finished document without paying to find out whether it helped, and know before you send it whether a parser will read it.
How long you wait
Seconds.
Seconds. The review runs while you wait and the finished page opens. If it cannot finish in the moment it is queued and retried.
A check you have to come back for is a check you will not run twice.
The checks that cost nothing
A hygiene list, with the deeper checks behind a subscription.
Quick checks run on the document itself with no AI at all: a missing email, phone or link, a summary over 120 words, a role without dates, bullets without a number, a bullet over 40 words, the same opening verb three times. Free, instant, on every review.
Hygiene should not be the paid tier.
What the rewrite is allowed to lose
Anything. A shorter draft reads as an improvement.
Nothing. A draft that drops an employer, a qualification or a certification is refused in code, retried once with the loss named, and never handed over if it still loses something.
A rewrite that quietly removes a job is worse than the CV you started with.
Price
A monthly fee to see your own score.
One CV review per role you apply to, your career profile, your portal and your job alerts cost nothing. Plus is $9 a month and Pro is $19 a month for more sessions and any job you like.
The diagnostic that decides whether you apply should not be the paywall.
A worked example
Fixes you can make today, not a course you should take next year.
Every gap is ordered by how much it costs you on this particular job, and every one of them is written as something you can change before dinner. The rule is in the product, not in a style guide: no advice to acquire citizenship, to relocate, or to add years you have not lived.
An honest answer about your file. Your first sign in says which of three things happened: the CV could not be read, it was read but shows nothing the role asks for, or it was scored.
A benchmark that admits its sample. Where your score sits against other CVs for this kind of role, with the sample size shown, or a plain guide when there is not enough data to be honest.
A voice that is not judging you. A guided spoken session talks you through the gaps in a voice deliberately unlike a screener, and what you say becomes part of your profile.
Same job, same reading. Every changed line is explained below.
What changed, and why a recruiter cares
Responsible for the nightly data run and related maintenance.Cut the nightly run from four hours to forty minutes by moving the join into the warehouse, then owned it for a year. The advert asks for ownership of a service in production. The first line shows the work; the second shows the outcome and the ownership.
Familiar with PostgreSQL.Modelled the reporting schema in PostgreSQL for eleven hospitals, including the partitioning that kept month end under an hour. The advert names the database three times. Naming where you used it is the difference between a keyword and evidence.

Any CV goes into a template the moment it is uploaded. Every card states its layout, and the plain text version sits beside every download.
The employer reads the same evidence
Your score stays yours. What the employer gets is your own words.
This is the part a resume checker cannot do at all, because it never meets the employer. On Risenoow the two readings are made of the same material.
Your CV score is never sent anywhere. It is a diagnostic for you. The employer does not receive it, cannot request it, and is never shown it beside your application.
What the employer reads is your interview.Five dimensions, each carrying the sentence you actually said, with a click that opens the conversation at that moment.
Your claims are checked against your CV.Each claim from the conversation is marked supported, unclear or contradicted, so the documents and the conversation stop being two separate readings.
The profile they see is the one you sent.Your career profile is frozen at the moment you applied, so editing it later never changes a decision already made about you.
A thin application is never given a number. The report says it is not scored, states how little there was, and warns the reader not to read it as a measure of you.
A decline names the requirement. In the same words recorded on your application, with the ninety day cooling period after which you may apply again.
Find out where your CV stands before an employer does.Paste the advert, give the link, or name the role. One review per job is free and no card is asked for.
Frequently asked questions about CV scores and resume checkers.
Is the Risenoow CV review free?Yes. One CV review per job is free, two CV templates are free forever, any CV can be taken in a free template the moment it is uploaded, and no card is asked for.
Does the employer see my CV score? No. Your CV score is yours alone. An employer sees their own report on your application, with your quoted words under each score.
Is a resume checker score the same as an applicant tracking system score? No. A resume checker score is that checker's own number. No employer system produces it and no employer reads it, so a high one is not evidence that anybody on the hiring side will agree.
Will Risenoow rewrite my CV for me?Yes, and it invents nothing. The rewrite is built only from what you told us, then scored against the same job again so you can see whether it helped.
What happens if my CV cannot be read? You are told plainly. Your first sign in says which of three things happened to your file: it could not be read, it was read but shows nothing the role asks for, or it was scored.
Can I check a job I have not applied to?On the free plan a review comes with each role you apply to. Plus, at $9 a month, checks any job you like, and Pro at $19 a month adds interview preparation and more guided sessions.
