Score tiles

The score tiles are the row of cards under the candidate header on a Risenoow candidate record. They put every number that matters about the applicant side by side, each with a word that says how to read it, so you know in a few seconds where to look closer.

Where: Candidate record, under the candidate header

Who can use it: Admins, and recruiters for the roles they created

Time needed: A few seconds

The Risenoow candidate record for Sami Quinn, with five score tiles under the header: Overall match 96, CV fit 98, Interview average 87, Technical interview 90 and Requirements 2 of 2 met
Five tiles across the top of the record. A tile only appears when there is something to show.

The five tiles

Tile What it measures The line underneath
Overall match The score the written report gives, out of 100, from everything the candidate supplied Their rank among every scored applicant for this role, such as "1st of 30 applicants", or "Out of 100" when fewer than two are scored
CV fit Their CV alone, read against this role's job description, out of 100 Their place among applicants whose CV was measured, such as "2 of 30 measured", or "Against the job description"
Interview average The average of the five voice interview dimensions A small bar for each of the five dimensions
Technical interview The average of the five dimensions in the second stage interview How far it moved from the voice interview average, such as "3 on the first" with an up or down arrow, or "Level with the first"
Requirements How many of the role's requirement questions they met One segment per requirement, filled for each one met

What the words mean

The Overall match, Interview average and Technical interview tiles use the same five words:

Score Word
80 to 100 Strong
65 to 79 Solid
50 to 64 Mixed
30 to 49 Limited
0 to 29 Little evidence

Words are there because a number on its own suggests a precision that is not there. A 50 means an ordinary answer for the role, not a failure.

The CV fit tile uses three words, the same ones the candidate sees in their own resume review:

Score Word
70 to 100 Strong
50 to 69 Fair
0 to 49 Weak

What the ring colours mean

Each score sits in a ring that fills to the score. On the overall, interview and technical tiles the ring is green from 80, teal from 65, amber from 50 and red below. The match score bar on the Candidates list uses the same colours. On the CV fit tile it is green from 70, amber from 50 and red below.

The Requirements tile has an icon instead of a ring: green when every requirement was met, red when the application was declined automatically for a requirement, and amber otherwise.

Tiles that show a state instead of a score

Some tiles say where things stand rather than give a number:

  • Overall match reads Not scored with "Too little to judge, see the report" when the candidate supplied too little to judge. It reads No overall score stated with "The written report gives no number" when a report exists but did not give a score for another reason. See How scoring works.
  • Technical interview reads Invited, Booked, In progress or Did not attend while an invitation is open, with the interview length underneath. With no invitation it reads Not invited yet with an Invite now link, which opens the invitation. See Invite to a technical interview.

A tile is left out entirely when there is nothing behind it. No CV means no CV fit tile, and no voice interview reading means no Interview average tile.

Which tile to trust for what

Each tile answers a different question, and they often disagree for good reasons:

  • CV fit answers "who should I read first?". It sees only the CV, so it is a reading order, not a judgement of the person.
  • Overall match answers "how well does everything they gave us fit this role?". It weighs the written answers, the interview, the follow ups and the CV together.
  • Interview average answers "how did the conversation go?", and the five dimensions behind it show where.
  • Technical interview answers "did the first reading hold up?" when you have run a second stage.
  • Requirements answers "do they meet the role's must haves?".

Someone can score 55 on CV fit and 85 on Overall match because they interviewed well. That is the system working, not a mistake.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the CV fit tile missing?

The candidate applied without a CV, or the file could not be read. There was nothing to measure against the job description.

Why does the overall match rank say "Out of 100"?

Fewer than two applicants for this role have a match score yet, so there is no field to rank against. The rank appears as more applications are scored.

Is the interview average the same as the overall match?

No. The interview average comes only from the voice interview's five dimensions. The overall match comes from the written report, which reads the interview together with everything else the candidate supplied.

Does the technical interview replace the first score?

No. It stands beside it. The arrow shows how far the second reading moved from the first, and both stay on the record.
