Technical interview tab¶
The Technical interview tab on a Risenoow candidate record holds the second stage interview: the questions this candidate is asked, and, once they have sat it, a second reading of the same five dimensions shown against the first, the video or audio recording, the transcript and a technical written report. It never changes the candidate's first score.
Where: Candidates in the left menu, open a candidate, then the Technical interview tab
Who can use it: Admins, and recruiters on the roles they can see
Time needed: Five minutes to read, plus the length of the recording
The plan for this candidate¶
The Technical interview card at the top says where things stand, with a tag such as Not invited yet, an invitation state, or Completed. From here you can send the invitation or, once one is done, use Invite again. See Invite to a technical interview.
Under it, Questions for this candidate lists what the AI interviewer will ask, in order.
Before the interview, you can change the questions for this one candidate without touching the role's own list:
- Edit a question in its box, or remove it with the bin button.
- Select Add a question to add one. A candidate can have three to eight questions.
- Select Save for this candidate.
- To go back to the role's list, select Use the role's questions.
After the candidate has had the interview, the list says These were asked in the interview, so they cannot change now.
What changed line¶
At the top of the reading, a highlighted line says in one sentence what the technical interview did to the first reading. The same line appears at the top of the Overview tab. It is worked out from the two sets of scores, not written by the AI, so it cannot flatter. It takes one of these shapes:
- Confirmed: "Technical interview confirmed the first reading, with reasoning and communication where they were." No dimension moved 8 points or more.
- Moved: names up to two dimensions that moved 8 points or more, with their old and new scores.
- Did not support: leads with any dimension that fell 12 points or more, for example "did not support role knowledge, down from 80 to 64".
The second reading¶
The technical interview is read on the same five dimensions as the voice interview: role knowledge, reasoning, communication, composure when pushed and engagement.
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Technical profile | A radar of the five scores and their average. A second line shows the First interview, and a dotted line shows the other people who sat it for this role, when there are enough of them. |
| Against the 4 who sat it for this role | This candidate's technical average beside everyone else who finished the technical interview for this role. The number in the title changes with the field. With fewer than two people, the card says there is nothing to compare against yet. |
| Summary | A short written reading of the conversation. |
| Dimension by dimension | Each score with first and field figures beside it, the verdict, the candidate's own words and an Ask next prompt. |
| Against the first interview | Each claim or score from the first reading marked Supported, Unclear or Contradicted by this conversation. |
| What the technical interview got through | Which questions were answered and which were not really answered. |
The first score is never rewritten
The note under the reading says it plainly: a second reading of a second conversation "stands beside the first score; it does not replace it." The candidate's overall match, written report and list position stay as they were. The Technical interview score tile shows the movement instead, for example "3 on the first".
The conversation and its recording¶
The The conversation card holds the recording and the transcript.
- Video: when a video recording is kept, a player appears. It loads when you open the tab, and the link to the recording works for ten minutes. If it stops, reload the page for a fresh one.
- Click a line to seek: with video, each transcript line that can be placed in the recording shows its time, such as 2:15. Click the line and the player jumps to that moment and plays.
- Audio: when there is no video, the audio recording plays instead, if one was kept.
- Consent: a line says when the candidate gave consent to the recording.
Short notes explain anything unusual:
| Note | What it means |
|---|---|
| Camera off for 2m 10s across 2 intervals: ... | When the candidate's camera was off, as times into the interview. |
| The camera was required but the interview was recorded as audio only. | No video was made, though the invitation asked for the camera. |
| The recording has passed its retention period and was deleted. | The video was kept for the period the candidate agreed to, then removed. See Recording retention. |
| Part of this recording did not upload from the candidate's browser. The audio recording is complete. | The video has a gap. |
If the candidate could not finish because of a technical problem, or the interview was left open and closed automatically, the transcript starts with a line saying so. If there was too little conversation to read, the tab says the interview finished but there was not enough in it to read, and shows whatever was said.
Technical written report¶
The last card is a Technical written report in the same eight sections as the Written report tab, ending with PROCEED, PROCEED WITH CAUTION or DO NOT PROCEED.
Frequently asked questions¶
Does a good technical interview raise the candidate's overall score?¶
No. The technical reading sits beside the first one. The overall match stays as it was, and the movement is shown on the Technical interview tile and in the what changed line.
Why can I not click the transcript lines?¶
Click to seek needs a video recording and a time on each line. With audio only, or with a line said before recording started, the line is plain text.
Why does the video say it is no longer available?¶
The recording has passed the retention period the candidate agreed to, or could not be loaded. Reload the page once; if the note stays, the recording has been deleted.
Can I change the questions after the interview?¶
No. Once asked, they are locked so the record matches the conversation.
