Privacy, data and recordings

Risenoow stores what a candidate sends with an application, shows it only to the hiring team for that role, and asks for consent before anything is collected. Technical interview recordings are deleted after a number of days your workspace sets, from 7 to 365. This page explains each of these in plain terms.

Where: Application start screen, Settings in the workspace, My profile in the portal

Who it is for: Employers and candidates

Time needed: Five minutes to read

Not legal advice

This page describes how the product behaves. It is not legal advice. The full policy is the Risenoow Privacy Policy. If you hire in a regulated setting, check your own obligations with an adviser.

What is stored

About candidates, for each application:

  • name, email address and, if given, a LinkedIn or profile link;
  • the CV and any other document they upload;
  • their written answers and follow up answers;
  • for the voice interview, an audio recording and a transcript;
  • for a technical interview, the transcript, the recording and a note of when they agreed to it;
  • the AI report and scores, and your team's stage and notes.

About candidates with a portal account: their CVs, career profile, saved jobs, job alerts and resume reviews.

About your team: names, email addresses, roles in the workspace and billing details. Passwords are stored in a form that cannot be read back.

Who sees it

  • The hiring team for the role. Admins see every role in the workspace. Recruiters see the roles they create and those candidates.
  • No other workspace. Every workspace is kept separate from every other.
  • The candidate. In their portal, a candidate sees their own applications, the stage in plain words and their score. They never see your notes.
  • Risenoow support, only to help you. If a Risenoow administrator enters your workspace for a support request, the visit is recorded under Platform support access in Settings. That list cannot be edited or removed by you or by Risenoow.

Before a candidate can start, the Start your application screen asks them to tick: "I agree to the Terms & Consent and Privacy Policy and consent to my responses, including any voice recording, being processed for this application." Risenoow does not start the application until the box is ticked.

The consent box sits above the Start application button.

A technical interview asks again, separately. The candidate reads a short statement before the interview opens. It says whether the camera will be on, that the recording and transcript go to the hiring team for that role and nobody else, how many days they are kept, and that nothing is decided by the recording alone. The page then shows the date and time they agreed.

Recordings and how long they are kept

Technical interview recordings are kept for the number of days set in Settings, under Voice interviewer, in Keep technical interview videos for. You can choose any number from 7 to 365. The default is 90.

  1. Open Settings in the left menu.
  2. Find Keep technical interview videos for under Voice interviewer.
  3. Enter the number of days and select Save settings.
  • The candidate is told this number before they agree.
  • The number shown to the candidate is the one that applies to their recording. Changing the setting later applies to interviews agreed to after the change.
  • When the time passes, the recording is deleted. The candidate record then says "The recording has passed its retention period and was deleted." The transcript and the written reading stay.
  • Scores are read from the transcript. The video is there for your team to watch, never to score.

Deleting data

Delete one application (employer)

Use the bin icon on the Candidates page, or Delete beside "Remove this application and everything in it" on a candidate record. The application and everything in it is removed, and this cannot be undone.

Delete a workspace (employer)

Only an admin can do this, from Delete workspace at the bottom of Settings. You type the workspace name and your password. Every role, company, application, CV, recording and report goes at once, all team accounts are closed and a paid plan is cancelled straight away. Candidates keep their own Risenoow accounts.

Delete a candidate account (candidate)

Open My profile in the portal and choose Delete my account. You confirm with your email address and password, or with a six digit code if you have never set a password. Your CVs, career profile, saved jobs and job alerts are deleted, and a paid plan is cancelled.

Applications stay with the employer

An application belongs to the employer you sent it to, so deleting your account does not delete it. To have one removed, contact that employer.

Protection against misuse

Public forms such as the application, sign up and password reset run a quick automatic check that a person, not a script, is using them. This stops anyone using an open application form to waste a workspace's interviews.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Risenoow keep interview recordings?

Technical interview recordings are kept for the number of days the workspace sets, between 7 and 365, and then deleted. The candidate is told the number before agreeing.

Who can watch a candidate's technical interview recording?

The hiring team for that role, inside the candidate record. The consent statement tells the candidate it goes to nobody else.

Does deleting my candidate account delete my applications?

No. Applications stay with the employers who received them. Contact the employer to ask for one to be removed.

Can Risenoow staff see my workspace?

Only when they enter it to help with a support request, and every visit is listed under Platform support access in Settings.

Is the video used to score the candidate?

No. The scores are read from the transcript. The video is for people to watch.
